The following technical information and data should be considered representative or typical only. Therefore, the information should not be used for specification purpose.
HANDLING & APPLICATIONS
The general application information presented here is based upon typical conditions determined by Alpha Adhesives & Sealants testing. Our recommendations on the use of this product are based on methods believed to be reliable. It is advised that users conduct their own tests to determine the suitability of the product for their specific application.
When used as a cleaner, T559 must be used in a well ventilated room or with appropriate Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV). It is advised that appropriate face masks be utilised if ventilation is not sufficient.
Cleaner solvent should be applied to a rag and then wiped over the substrate surface to remove grease, dust, loose particles and other potential contaminants.
After cleaning, all substrate surfaces should be dry before application of adhesive.
Alpha T559 can be used as a thinning solvent in those adhesives that specify T559 as a suitable cleaner.
Users wishing to use any of the Alpha Cleaners and Thinners range should conduct tests prior to full application to ensure the correct ratio of adhesive to solvent.
Always be aware that thinning will reduce the viscosity and total solids content of the adhesive, which may affect open time and coverage.
