PRODUCT INFORMATION

Alpha A1857 has been specially developed for fixing mineral wool fire protection systems.  It is also suitable for fixing other insulation products where a fire resistant adhesive is needed.

Alpha A1857  has good aging properties, contains no solvent and conforms to the latest environmental legislation.

HANDLING & APPLICATIONS

The general application information presented here is based upon typical conditions determined by Alpha Adhesives & Sealants Limited testing. All surfaces  should be dry, clean and free from dust, grit, wax, grease or oil using Alpha T161 or a suitable cleaner.

The following application method should only be used as a guideline. It is advised that the user conducts preliminary tests to ensure they are using the adhesive correctly for their own purpose.

  1. Apply the A1857 to the surface using a serrated trowel having 1/16 inch triangular notches, spaced at 3/16 inch centres. Coat two to three square yards at a time.
  2. Place the material in position and press or roll down firmly to eliminate air pockets and ensure even, overall contact.

All bonded asssemblies should be allowed to dry for a minimum of 48 hours.

For wet material, it is advised that any spillages be cleaned up immediately with a damp cloth before the adhesive can fully dry.

Dried adhesive can be cleaned with Alpha Cleaner T 161.

HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION

Alpha A1857 is classified as non-hazardous according to Directive EC 1272/2008. Please refer to the Alpha A1857 Safety Data Sheet for further health & safety information.

 

STORAGE

Alpha A1857 should be stored in its original container, with the lid tightly secured, in dry conditions and at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C. Alpha A1857 will keep satisfactorily for up to 18 months from date of manufacture if stored according to the recommended conditions.
